Weight Management Programs
Overweight and obesity affect the majority of Canadians. It is also the main cause of many serious chronic diseases including Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Diets and restrictive eating patterns are short-term strategies to lose weight but rarely are individuals able to keep the weight off.
The Healthy Weight Solutions program is based on scientifically-proven approaches to weight loss. The program will guide you using effective teaching tools and resources that will empower you to understand food, nutrition, weight and your health. Filomena is a licensed Craving ChangeTM facilitator and incorporates cognitive behavioural strategies to address the many causes of overeating – namely, emotional triggers. She has also received her Level 1 Adult Obesity Training from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the US. She has participated in Canadian Obesity Network professional retreat on obesity.
The Healthy Weight Solutions program is not a “quick fix” to losing weight. Rather, it is a balanced approach to assisting you towards a healthier weight by guiding you to understand the barriers, incorporate effective strategies, and sustain dietary and lifestyle changes for life.

Kids & Teens Nutrition Programs
Many experts predict that today’s children will be the first generation (in a very long time) to have poorer health outcomes & shorter life expectancy than their parents. Rates of overweight and obesity have more than doubled for kids ages 6-17yrs since 1978. Poor dietary habits in childhood are known to continue into adult years.
This interactive nutrition program will help kids and teens develop healthier eating habits and a positive relationship with food, without dieting. Filomena will engage your child in making healthier decisions around their own dietary choices.
The goal is have your child become interested in meal planning and grocery shopping and even cooking alongside you, their parent! This will inspire and empower them towards positive dietary and lifestyle changes. The program does require your child to be motivated to want to make important dietary changes. Varying length of programs are available including 3, 6, and 12 month durations.
